Politica Eline Vedder from Ruinerwold leaves the House of Representatives. She has decided to no longer be eligible for her party CDA for the October elections.
The Drentse announced today not to apply for parliamentary membership. The deadline for this ends on Friday. In a message on social media, she says that working remotely is too heavy a switch on her family and her health. The 46-year-old Vedder calls on others in itself to apply.
Vedder was the number two on the CDA list in the previous elections. According to her, it was important at the time that there is a Drenthe so high. She said she felt responsible for the Northern Netherlands.
Since May 2023 she was in the Lower House and in November of that year she was re -elected. On behalf of the CDA, until the new MPs have been installed, she is responsible for agriculture, among other things. Vedder himself grew up in the countryside and runs a dairy farm with her husband in Ruinerwold.
There are currently five Drenten in the Lower House. In addition to Vedder, these are every Slagt-Tichelman and Julian Bushoff from GroenLinks-PvdA, Nico Uppelschoten (PVV) and Harm Holman (NSC). The latter also waves off after the elections.
