Eli Iserbyt pocketed day and overall victory

Iserbyt made it up and around the Campus VUB-ULB after a long solo ahead of his teammate Michael Vanthourenhout, the Belgian and European champion. Dutch champion Lars van der Haar (Baloise Trek Lions) completed the podium. The 25-year-old Iserbyt had a comfortable lead in the standings (on time) before the start and put the dots on the i on Sunday. The West Fleming rode almost the entire cross alone in the front and was 17 seconds ahead of Vanthourenhout, who was the best in the university cross last year.

Iserbyt also won the trophy in 2020 and 2021. Last year the final classification went to Toon Aerts, but he has been sidelined after his doping suspension.
