Only four clubs represented

After the unbeaten champions Bayer Leverkusen dominated the team for the 2023/24 Bundesliga season with five players and eclipsed FC Bayern with only two representatives, the balance of power changed again after the first half of the season. The Munich team leads the table by four points over last year’s champions, and the TM community also acknowledges this. There are six Bayern professionals in the team for the first half of the season, which is also coached by Vincent Kompany.

Jamal Musiala has the most votes from users. The Munich creative player was chosen by the TM community nine times in the first half of the season – more often than anyone else. Florian Wirtz, the German national team’s second hope, follows in second place. Bayer 04’s difference player made it into the team for the match day a total of six times.
The midfield is completed by his Leverkusen teammate Alejandro Grimaldo and the two Bayern professionals Joshua Kimmich and Michael Olise. The Frenchman, who collected the fifth most votes of all players, is the only new addition to the first half of the season.
As expected, the current leader of the scorers list, Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, also made it into the selection. The Egyptian, who is considering a move to Man City, scored 15 goals and ten assists in 17 games. In total, the striker was in the matchday team seven times, meaning he is only ahead of Musiala. Next to Marmoush is Harry Kane, who scored 16 goals in the first series and received even more votes than the SGE top scorer – they take third and fourth place in the ranking.
In defense, as well as in midfield and in attack, a professional from the record champions was also chosen most often. Alphonso Davies has overcome his dip in form from last season and, with strong performances, played his way into the team for the first half of the season and to the top of the defender rankings. The three-man chain is completed by his teammate Dayot Upamecano and Leverkusen’s defense chief Jonathan Tah. In goal is Robin Zentner from the surprise team Mainz 05, who only made it into the team for the matchday once, but is only ahead of Péter Gulácsi and Manuel Neuer in the ranking of the most clean sheets.
