Elena Semechin shares very special news with her fans on Instagram – and chooses emotional words.

After her tumor diagnosis and surviving chemotherapy, the visually impaired world-class swimmer Elena Semechin now enjoys her very private happiness. The 31-year-old has become a mother for the first time. The two -time Paralympic winner gave birth to her son Klaus Phillip on Tuesday. “I am infinitely grateful and full of love. Welcome to this world, my little darling,” wrote the three -time world champion on Instagram as an image on which she keeps her baby in her arms in the bedside.

The birth was not easy. “Yesterday I was finally allowed to hold my biggest miracle in my arms after a long and exhausting birth,” the native kissach wrote. And further: “My son Klaus Phillip started his life with 3,100 grams and 48 centimeters.” Father is her husband and coach Phillip Semechin, with whom she has been married since 2021.

Semechin also wants to go back to competitive sports with Baby, the goal is the Paralympics 2028 in Los Angeles. She had to accept financial setbacks recently because sponsors had withdrawn after her pregnancy became known. After that, there was a public debate about the support of pregnant competitive athletes. Semechin now wants to be a role model for other athletes.

Elena Semechin is ill with Stargardt’s disease. According to her own statement, you threaten to completely lose her remaining vision of only two percent anyway. A brain tumor was diagnosed with her at the end of 2021 after her gold triumph from Tokyo over 100 meters of breast. Shortly after the diagnosis and immediately before the difficult operation, she married her Phillip in November 2021.

Despite the following chemotherapy over a year, the Berliner trained and returned to the top of the world. Her comeback crowned her over 100 meters of chest last September with her renewed Paralympics victory in Paris. Then she was a German flag bearer at the Paralympics closing ceremony. It has been healed for two years now.
