Elections: Bamenga not yet sure of seat, Lahlah has a hangover

Femke Zeedijk from Eindhoven is number twelve on the NSC list. For Zeedijk, this means that she will ‘just’ end up in the House of Representatives. After all, the NSC now has twenty seats. In the morning she says from her kitchen table that she is extremely happy. “I’m really looking forward to it. We really had a great party yesterday after the first exit poll,” she says with a smile from ear to ear.

Zeedijk has worked at ASML for the past ten years and has mainly done smaller freelance assignments in recent years. “But I have to stop all that now. My job in The Hague is a full-time job.” Furthermore, she still has to let everything sink in. “It’s quite a lot. We’re meeting this afternoon. There will be plenty to discuss,” she laughs.

She has no opinion yet about governing with the PVV. “You cannot ignore the PVV when so many people voted for it, but at the same time our positions are far apart. I haven’t decided yet myself. I find it very difficult to respond to that,” says Zeedijk, who is not interested in a position as state secretary or minister.

“I am in The Hague three days a week, but on the other days I want to be active here in the region. That is where my strength lies and being in Parliament is already quite a lot of work.”
