Mehmet Ali Gürboğa, a businessman from Antalya who is on the board of directors list of Mehmet Şaşmaz, one of the former presidents who is a candidate for the presidency of Hatayspor Club, said in his statement to AA correspondent that businessman Mehmet Şaşmaz, who announced his candidacy for president before Hatayspor’s extraordinary congress to be held on January 10, is on the board of directors list. He stated that he was involved.
Gürboğa stated that there is a short time until the general assembly and most likely the election will be held with a single list. “Our first goal is to keep Hatayspor in the league. Secondly, we want to bring the excitement of football to our Hatay fans and people again and make them forget the pain.” he said.
Explaining that they had various meetings in Portugal, Germany and Turkey for the position of coach, Gürboğa said, “We made an agreement with Yılmaz Vural, Turkey’s experienced, charismatic and successful coach. When we are elected to the position at the congress on January 10, we will immediately start working with Yılmaz.” he said.
Gürboğa noted that they lifted Hatayspor’s transfer ban as of yesterday and will make at least 6-7 transfers.
Stating that he will work as the vice president responsible for infrastructure on the board of directors if he takes office, Gürboğa said, “We support our young people in Hatay and the surrounding area and want them to play time in Hatayspor in the coming years.” he said.
