Eintracht professional Rode: Trainer does not allow stagnation

Frankfurt / Main (AP) – Captain Sebastian Rode believes in a continuation of the sporting highs of Eintracht Frankfurt in the second half of the Bundesliga.

“On the one hand I am optimistic about the structure of the team and on the other hand our coach, who is very active and does not allow stagnation. He is always willing to keep making progress,” said Rode in an interview on the club’s website.

Under Oliver Glasner, who had come from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer, Eintracht had collected 27 points in the first half of the season after some initial difficulties and worked their way up to sixth place. “Before the season we announced that we wanted to knock on the Europa League places again. We are currently at the top, we want to go this way to the end,” said Rode.

At the start of the second half of the season, the Hessians receive Borussia Dortmund, second in the table, on Saturday. “I expect a hot game. BVB are of incredible quality,” said the 31-year-old midfielder. In their own stadium, however, Eintracht always held up very well and often embarrassed Dortmund. “We figure out a lot,” emphasized Rode.
