Eintracht Frankfurt: Transfer of Anderlecht’s Pacho already agreed?

Contradiction to “Sport1” info

According to a report, Eintracht Frankfurt can secure the services of 21-year-old central defender Willian Pacho – at a hefty price that would set new standards both at SBU and especially at Royal Antwerp. However, the information currently circulating is still quite contradictory.

The newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad‘ confirmed past information from ‘sports1“. The broadcaster had recently reported on Eintracht’s interest and negotiations with Antwerp. The Belgian newspaper now even speaks of an almost certain transfer and emphasizes which coup the Belgian club has just managed. The deal is largely complete – only details are missing – then, according to the report, a transfer fee of 16 million euros will be due. “Jackpot”, judges the paper, because “The Great Old” can even continue to plan with the Ecuadorian. After all “Sport1” reporter Christopher Michel contradicts. Negotiations are still ongoing and the SGE is not willing to pay such a sum.

Either way, a change is only planned for the coming summer. Then the fee would be due, which would make Pacho, with the amount mentioned in Belgium, by far the most lucrative sale in Antwerp. So far, Benson has been Manuel Hedilazio, who joined Burnley FC last summer, as the most expensive exit – for just a quarter of what Pacho is now expected to bring in. A resale participation was also agreed.

Pacho’s fee for Frankfurt is also the highest ever – the player was absent from training

However, the German broadcaster recently said in relation to a rumored transfer fee of only 15 million euros that the SGE does not want to and will not pay such a sum. Eintracht Frankfurt has never paid such a high transfer fee. Luka Jović, now listed as a record purchase, also originally cost less than half that at around €7m before a resale stake for Benfica when Jović moved to Real Madrid drove up the total.

Pacho is said to have just traveled to Frankfurt, but it is unclear whether with the aim of getting the transfer over the stage. In any case, that’s why he missed training in Antwerp, which is supervised by coach Mark van Bommel. The former Bayern professional does not have to worry about the departure in the short term, because you can still rely on Pacho until the end of the season. Well negotiated by CEO Sven Jaecques and sports director Marc Overmars, as “Nieuwsblad” comments: “You managed to hit the jackpot, but at the same time ensure sporting continuity in the short term.” Now the Reds still have plenty of time to find a replacement to care.

We will never spend 16 million on a player. I would still consider 6-8 to be reasonably realistic. …

On the other hand, the contracts of Evan Ndicka (23), the veteran Makoto Hasebe (39) and Almamy Touré (26) in the center of defense expire in the summer. According to “Sport1”, Pacho’s commitment is even sought independently of the talks with Ndicka. However, the clubs should still be far apart in their ideas even with a lower sum mentioned.

Transfer dispute about Pacho: Gladbach let the change burst in 2021

As early as summer 2021, Pacho, who comes from the talent factory of Copa Sudamericana winner Independiente del Valle, was about to be transferred to the Bundesliga and was even officially adopted. At Borussia Mönchengladbach, however, the defensive talent never caught on, as the “foals” let the deal burst despite contracts that were ready to be signed – for financial reasons, it was said at the time. At Independiente, the procedure caused great anger, and the Ecuadorians were even considering legal action.

Half a year later, Pacho managed to make the leap to Europe, Royal Antwerp paid almost 2.9 million euros. The defender recommended himself to the Belgian first division club after a few months of acclimatization in the previous pre-season and it is impossible to imagine van Bommel’s team without him. With his performances, Pacho also secured a ticket for the World Cup in Qatar, but remained unplayed in the shadow of the more experienced Piero Hincapié (21) and Félix Torres (26).
