Eintracht Frankfurt has completed a partnership with the Ghanaian first division club Accra Lions FC, which officially comes into force in June 2025. The goal is to strengthen international presence and promote young talents. The ACCRA Lions have made a name for themselves with their young talent strategy and the establishment of a modern training center beyond the national borders.

The club from the capital of Ghanas was only founded in 2015 and has been playing in the Ghana Premier League since 2021. Two years ago, DFB national player Lothar Matthäus bought the Accra Lions together with the former player advisor Oliver König from Frankfurt and the Ghanaian football professional Frank Acheampong. Last season, the club won the runner -up championship by far the youngest squad. The average age is currently just 19 years. The team, which has been trained by German Rainer Kraft since the beginning of the year, is in the relegation battle in the current season.

“We are very happy to enter into a partnership with ACCRA Lions FC, the two clubs open up new opportunities. This initiative will not only help us to discover talents from Africa, but also help to share our sporting and organizational experiences with a dynamic club like ACRA Lions,” said Sports Director Markus Krösche. With David Oduro (18), a talent of the Accra Lions made the leap to FC Barcelona last summer.
