Eintracht Frankfurt: Oliver Glasner wants to celebrate before the SBU says goodbye

Despite the defeat in the last final with Eintracht Frankfurt, the outgoing coach Oliver Glasner wants to treat himself to a marathon celebration – and not think about his future for the time being.

“We’ll let the pig out. I’ve decided to party through Monday because the last few weeks have been exhausting,” said the 48-year-old on Saturday evening after the 2-0 defeat in the DFB Cup final against RB Leipzig on “Sky”: “If I show up again, I’ll report.”

He hasn’t given any thought to future tasks, the right thing will come up. If not, then I can improve my handicap in golf.”

After two years, winning the Europa League title in 2022 and the cup final in 2023, the Austrian is leaving the club. Recently there had also been atmospheric tensions.

Nevertheless, he will “always carry the time in Frankfurt in his heart,” said Glasner on “ZDF”: “I look back on two wonderful, fantastic years, when I think about it, I get goosebumps.” He is leaving Frankfurt “as a fan”.

Will Dino Toppmöller join Eintracht Frankfurt?

Most recently, Dino Toppmöller was traded as Glasner’s successor, most recently as assistant coach under Julian Nagelsmann at FC Bayern Munich until his dismissal.

Sports director Markus Krösche did not respond to this on Saturday evening despite repeated requests. “It’s not the time to talk about a successor,” said the 42-year-old.
