Several Bundesliga clubs are competing

At the top of the scorers list with 17 goals, and also the best scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga with 22 goals: center forward Noel Futkeu has developed into one of the hottest stocks on the transfer market in recent weeks. With five goals in the last three games alone, the 23-year-old became Greuther Fürth’s life insurance in the relegation battle, but his future lies in a first division. Hamburger SV is one of several options at home and abroad; interest in a commitment is said to have already been registered with the players.

The North Germans now have three regular center forwards under contract for the new season: youngster Otto Stange, veteran Robert Glatzel and captain Youssuf Poulsen. The most valuable professional in the Fürth squad, valued at 5 million euros since March, could complement this. At least “Sky” reports that the Rothosen made contact, who were able to secure relegation in the upper house last weekend and can therefore start concrete squad planning. However, Hamburg is not alone in its quest for offensive power.
Several Bundesliga clubs are said to be in the running for Futkeu, but Sky only mentions Borussia Mönchengladbach by name. A switch to the foals is now rather unlikely. In addition, the attacker is also attracting interest abroad, for example in Belgium at RSC Anderlecht. It remains to be seen which station will be next in Futkeu’s young career. According to consistent reports, the only thing that is certain is that it will not be Eintracht Frankfurt. His former club, which exercised the buyback option for Futkeu at the end of April, is reportedly planning a direct resale.
Eintracht Frankfurt sets a high price tag for Futkeu
Frankfurt brought the Essen native back to the Main for 1.3 million euros. According to “Bild”, the SGE has set the price tag at up to 10 million euros – that might be too much for HSV or Gladbach. Eintracht should use any income to retain Nottingham loanee Arnaud Kalimuendo (24).
With a view to his future, Futkeu himself recently emphasized that he wanted to dedicate himself fully to the task of staying in the league with the Fürth team. Two match days before the end of the season, they are in 17th place in the table, but are level on points with 16th Düsseldorf and 15th Braunschweig. On Sunday, Hertha BSC is waiting for the cloverleaf before there will be a real relegation final in front of their home crowd against Fortuna on the last match day. “I don’t need to make a secret that my performance doesn’t remain hidden. But that’s not an issue for me. I have a really big mission here with the boys and that’s my top priority,” said Futkeu.
