Faride Alidou returns early to Eintracht Frankfurt. The 23-year-old left winger was loaned out to Italian first division club Hellas Verona last summer in order to gain regular playing time and experience – this plan did not work. The Hamburg native only made three league appearances spread over 68 minutes. The loan deal negotiated for the Serie A club with a purchase option has now been canceled prematurely.
Update January 23rd, 2:06 p.m.: Shortly after Eintracht Frankfurt announced the termination of the loan, 1. FC Kaiserslautern announced Alidou’s signing. The club did not provide any information about the term of the contract; according to information from “Sky”, Eintracht has secured a buyback option for the offensive player. “We are happy that a player of his quality was available at such short notice in the current transfer window and that we were able to convince him to move to FCK. Also in view of the fact that personnel changes await us on the wings in the summer. “In this way we can ensure planning security at an early stage,” said FCK managing director Thomas Hengen.
The Italians limited their personnel announcement on Thursday to three short sentences and concluded by wishing the player all the best and thanking him. At this point there had been no communication from the SGE regarding Alidou. “It is currently very important for Faride to get regular playing time and compete. At Hellas Verona he can gain further experience in a strong and exciting league. We wish him a successful and injury-free season in Italy,” said sports director Timmo Hardung last August when making the move.
Alidou had previously spent a season at 1. FC Köln, where he scored four goals in 26 games. In 2022 he moved from Hamburger SV to Eintracht for free, for whom he played a total of 21 games. Alidou’s contract with the Hessians is dated until 2026.
