Eintracht Frankfurt | Coach Glasner wants to “celebrate until Monday”

Despite losing the DFB Cup final, coach Oliver Glasner wants to celebrate extensively in his last game with Eintracht Frankfurt.

“We’re going to really let it all out today, me too. I’m going to party until Monday, that’s what I’ve decided to do because the last few weeks and months have been very exhausting,” said the Austrian after the 0: 2 (0: 0) in Berlin against RB Leipzig on the pay TV channel Sky: “And then I’ll say goodbye to vacation. If I turn up somewhere, I’ll get in touch.”

Regarding his personal future, he was “very relaxed”, the 48-year-old confirmed: “The right thing will come up. And if not, it’s time to improve my golf handicap again.”

“It’s part of football”

Glasner and Eintracht go their separate ways after the season. After the triumph in the Europa League last year, he would have liked to say goodbye with another title. But his disappointment was limited. “Of course it hurts, it hurts a lot. But that’s part of football, that’s part of life,” said the coach: “We played excellently for two years, we moved Frankfurt, we moved all of Germany.”

In addition, a defeat could also be an opportunity, he said: “Maybe Frankfurt now has the chance to win the Conference League next year. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the team.”
