Premiere at the Christmas market: Eintracht Braunschweig is represented for the first time at the traditional event in the city center. What that means to the club.
The Christmas market in downtown Braunschweig starts on Wednesday. Right in the middle: a stand from Eintracht Braunschweig. The second division team is celebrating its premiere at the traditional event in the center of the Lion City and is providing one of a total of eight new stands. You can read about the stalls that are new at the Christmas market here.
Eintracht is honored to be able to operate a blue and yellow Christmas stand in the heart of the city. “Being represented at the Braunschweig Christmas market for the first time is something very special for us,” says Wolfram Benz, the association’s commercial director. “We would like to thank Braunschweig city marketing for the good cooperation.”
Eintracht fan merchandise will be on sale at the small wooden stall in the coming weeks. Professionals as well as former players and officials also want to stop by regularly and seek contact with the fans. “We want to create space for exchange, encounters and togetherness during this special time,” said Benz.
With its presence at the Christmas market, which Eintracht considers to be one of the “most beautiful in the Federal Republic”, they want to take another step towards the people in the city. Since the summer, the club has been pursuing the goal of getting closer to the residents of Braunschweig and the region “and being present where life takes place,” explains the club.
A city tour has already been organized for the professional team, games have been announced at prominent locations in the Lion City and the city center fan shop “Aantracht Eck” has opened on the Damm. “With our premiere appearance at the Braunschweig Christmas market, we are continuing on this path,” said the BTSV.
Starting on Wednesday evening, a total of 140 stalls at the Christmas market around St. Blasii Cathedral and German Unity Square invite you to browse and feast. At the opening, Mayor Thorsten Kornblum will give a speech from 5:45 p.m. before the lights are traditionally switched on at 6 p.m.
From then on, you can visit the Eintracht stand – like all other stands – Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on December 29th (last market day) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Christmas market is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
