The defeat against Nuremberg was the next low for Eintracht Braunschweig. He now demands personnel consequences.
After the 1: 4 defeat against 1. FC Nürnberg, second division team Eintracht Braunschweig coach Daniel Schering has released. His assistant Andreas Zimmermann and goalkeeper coach Milenko Gilic also have to go with him. The club announced this on Monday.
With a new coaching team, Eintracht goes into the two upcoming relegation games against 1. FC Saarbrücken. The previous assistant coach Marc Pfitzner takes over as head coach. He is assisted by assistant coach Marcel Goslar, athletic coach Janning Michels and rehabilitation trainer Alexander Bülow as well as Ken Reichel and Jasmin Fejzic. The latter will train the goalkeeper.
Sports Managing Director Benjamin Kessel said: “We appreciate Daniel very much and thank him for the past one and a half years in which he has made a lot of commitment and devotion to harmony with great commitment.” The decision was not easy for those responsible. “Because we had the fundamental conviction until the end that we will reach our season goal again together,” said Kessel.
As a new head coach Marc Pfitzner, the Eintracht boss said with a view to the relegation: “The team of coaches with Marc at the top enjoys our unrestricted trust in successfully guiding the team through this duels. It is clear that we already show a completely different face on Friday and that relegation as an opportunity can be seen to get to the relegation.” You see the team as a duty.
Daniel Schering also had their say in the message. Until the end, he was convinced that the relegation could succeed despite the difficult situation. “Nothing has changed in this conviction-I am sure that the team will decide the relegation for themselves. The more painful for me it is to no longer support the team and the club in this task,” the 41-year-old gave an insight into his soul life.
Scherning had taken over Braunschweig 2023. Previously, he had been a coach in Bielefeld and Osnabrück.
