October 21, 2025 – 7:14 p.mReading time: 1 min.

Eintracht Braunschweig invites Hannover 96 to the Niedersachsensenderby. The city is taking action around the game. Traffic is restricted.
On Sunday it’s that time again: Eintracht Braunschweig welcomes arch-rival Hannover 96 to the explosive Niedersachsensenderby (kick-off: 1.30 p.m.). At the start of the derby week, the city of Braunschweig is informing about measures that affect traffic around the Eintracht Stadium on Hamburger Straße.
Hamburger Straße will be closed in both directions between Schmalbachstraße and the A392 from 10 a.m. to probably 5 p.m., according to a corresponding message.
Residents of the Schwarzer Berg residential area can continue to use the access from the north. The access from the south from the A392 to Siegfriedstraße also remains free for residents. Siegfriedstrasse is closed from the east from Guntherstrasse, but is accessible to residents up to Lohengrinstrasse.
Away from the stadium, Ackerstrasse will also be closed for two periods: between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The area affected is the area coming from Helmstedter Straße (at the level of house number 66 A) and from Salzdahlumer Straße, from the junction with Ackerstraße. Residents can enter from the direction of Helmstedter Straße.
Those familiar with the area should avoid the area as far as possible. Parking restrictions apply in the area around the Eintracht Stadium and on Ackerstrasse. Due to the loss of taxi parking spaces in front of the stadium, replacement spaces will be set up on Hamburger Straße at house numbers 229/230.
