Fraser recently left the Orange squad because he will be the trainer of FC Utrecht next season. He cannot combine that job with his position with the Dutch national team. Davids was clubless and can therefore fill the position immediately. Together with Danny Blind and goalkeeper coach Frans Hoek, he becomes Van Gaal’s right-hand man.
As a player, Davids was active for Ajax, AC Milan, Juventus, FC Barcelona, Internationale and Tottenham Hotspur, among others. In total he wore the Orange shirt 74 times and he participated in three European Championships and one World Cup.
Davids did an internship at FC Twente and Telstar during his Coach Paid Football course. He was in Velsen-Zuid for a few months assistant coach under Andries Jonkeruntil Davids in January 2021 left for the Portuguese Olhanense†
