Edgar Davids always wears glasses because of eye disease: ‘Can lead to blindness’

Former football player and assistant national coach of the Dutch national team Edgar Davids has been recognizable for 27 years by his sports glasses. He suffers from glaucoma, an eye disease that causes irreversible damage to the optic nerve. It is a silent killer among the eye diseases: many people do not know that they suffer from the condition.
