Eddy Zoëy is quite annoyed by some sound people at RTL Boulevard. He believes that a script should be drawn up at some point to prevent mistakes. “How is this possible?”
It bothers Eddy Zoëy immensely that RTL Boulevard is a bit of a mess when it comes to sound. According to the presenter, rookie mistakes are made and he is not happy with that, says the 56-year-old presenter from Almelo in conversation with The Friday Move. He says it can make him quite ‘grumpy’.
Hassle with earpiece
What exactly is going on? Eddy: “At Boulevard you have a permanent team and what sometimes changes is, for example, the sound engineer. What I can’t imagine is that if you do yet another Boulevard, the settings will suddenly be different. Then I think: why do I have this on my earpiece and not that?”
Eddy is angry about that. “Then you could just say that. Then I indeed say: ‘Guys, how can the settings not be as they should be? Why do I have this on my earpiece and not that? Why does this have to be different? Why don’t you make a script for once?”
Do not shout
The lack of a script is simply amateurish, Eddy thinks. “A cameraman is not going to cross himself every time!’ But then you get tired of your own repetition and in the morning you shout it again at a morning meeting and hope that something will be done with it. But that is within reason.”
Eddy doesn’t shout at such a morning meeting. “Also because you know that the sound guy standing there can’t do a f*ck about it.”
