Convicted sex offender Eddy Snelders (66) absolutely wants to avoid going to prison. That is why the former football commentator is now contesting his prison sentence imposed in June before the Antwerp Court of Appeal on Thursday. Snelders believes that no one – “not me and not society either” – benefits from having to serve several months of his sentence in a cell. “I need continued help.” Victims are not amused: “He thinks sitting in his couch and occasionally talking to a therapist is an appropriate punishment.”
