Eddy Merckx’s head is justified: four children find face of statue in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe

Some children from Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe have found the face of the memorial stone for Eddy Merckx in their municipality. Mayor Benoît Cerexhe reacts with relief. On Wednesday, local residents discovered to their dismay that vandals had attacked Stefaan De Croock’s work of art and ripped off the head of the greatest Belgian cyclist of all time.
