Edammer Calvin Raatsie temporarily exchanges the goal of FC Utrecht for Roda JC in Kerkrade

Goalkeeper Calvin Raatsie is temporarily moving from FC Utrecht to Roda JC. The 21-year-old Edammer is rented out for six months in order to get more playing minutes.

Since his transfer from Ajax to Utrecht a year and a half ago, the Jong Oranje goalkeeper has only played for the Utrecht team. The Greek Vasilis Barkas is preferred in the first team this season and he also has competition from Mattijs Branderhorst.

“For Calvin and his development, the opportunity to play weekly minutes in a first team is particularly valuable,” says technical director Jordy Zuidam on the FC Utrecht website. “That means that we are positive about this temporary transition. We wish Calvin a good second half of the season in Kerkrade and welcome him back to Utrecht after this year.” Raatsie’s contract with FC Utrecht runs until the summer of 2025.

Just over a year ago, NH Sport visited the talented Raatsie and Tom de Graaf during a goalkeeper training at EV in Edam.
