According to Ed Sheeran has rejected the opportunity to play a concert in space. The reason: he is “terrible fear”.

“Some time ago I was offered to fly into this,” the singer told the British radio station BBC Radio 2, for “a first appearance in space”. Those who had offered him the flight into space, however, did not reveal Sheeran.
Fear and responsibility as reasons for cancellation
However, he knocked out the offer because the idea of ”terrible fear”, says Sheeran. “Man, I don’t do that, I have children. I don’t take the risk. What? To set up a Guinness World Record or something?”
Family focus
He did not want to risk that his children would no longer have a father due to his carelessness, Ed Sheeran said. The pop star and his wife Cherry Seaborn have two daughters who were born in 2020 and 2022.
New album play published
The new album Play by Ed Sheeran was released on September 12th. As part of this, the UK artist has also announced other live appointments, which on December 3, 2025 do not lead him to space, but to Munich.
Next album Rewind in planning
There is also another new album. According to Sheeran, Rewind was produced at the same time as Play and is scheduled to appear in the next 18 months.
Records in Düsseldorf instead of in space
Most recently, Sheeran and his concerts in Düsseldorf had set several records for the Merkur Spiel-Arena in early September. He appeared in the state capital on September 5th, 6th and 7th for the final of its global “Mathematics” tour. He delivered the largest concert event in the history of the arena: around 195,000 visitors: inside came to the three shows. At least in Düsseldorf, Sheeran was able to crack a record – and that according to the laws of gravity.
