At the beginning of August, Ed Sheeran announced his new album for fall. Now the time has come: From now on, the AUTUMN VARIATIONS are available to stream or as physical copies, from one day to the next.
“Last fall, I realized that my friends and I were going through so many changes in our lives. After the heat of summer, everything either calmed down, settled down, fell apart, came to a head, or imploded,” Sheeran shares about the background of the record. “When I was going through a difficult time early last year, writing songs helped me understand and process my feelings, and as I learned about my friends’ different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspective and some from my perspective, to capture how she and I saw the world at that time.”
Along with the album, the singer-songwriter released a live acoustic recording of the new song “American Town.” On November 18th and 19th, the singer will play AUTUMN VARIATIONS in full at two sold-out concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
