ECB will almost certainly pause interest rates again

The European Central Bank (ECB) will almost certainly leave interest rates in the euro zone unchanged at 4 percent on Thursday. The Central Bank is thus pausing interest rates for the second time in a row, after a record series of increases. Since the middle of last year, the ECB has sharply raised borrowing costs in the euro area to their highest level ever to combat inflation. The interest rate decision, the last of this year, will be announced in the afternoon.
