According to the Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique in Strasbourg, the quake struck at 5:58 pm in Schlierbach, a French village south of Mulhouse, near the border with Switzerland. The epicenter was about 12 kilometers deep.
There are currently no reports of serious damage or casualties.
