The accident must have happened around 4:30 this morning. The woman was riding an e-scooter along Prins Albertlaan in Izegem when she was hit by a car. The driver then immediately committed a hit-and-run accident. The woman was seriously injured and was taken to the AZ Delta hospital in Roeselare. Her life is not in danger. The driver of the car has since been captured, the police confirmed.
A traffic expert arrived on the scene to investigate the circumstances of the accident. As a result, Prins Albertlaan was temporarily closed to traffic.
