Cervinia hosted the unique test of the world championship series promoted by FIM. The samples of the Manolo Morettini motorcycle eduction, fastest pilot and dominant of the E2 class and Thomas Oldrati are highlighted. A tricolor success between climbs, descents and specials faced up to 65 km/h
In the heart of the Alps, between 2 thousand and 2,900 meters of Breuil–Cervinia, Saturday 26 July 2025 The single trial was staged Enduro world and–bike from the Fim. Among the absolute protagonists of this appointment there are two faces known at the international level of the classical enduro: it is Thomas Oldrati And Manolo Morettini. And even if the clouds have not granted the usual postcard show, the charm of the high altitude has remained intact.
a unique environment
–
Among the rocks and technical paths traced inside the bike park, in a breathtaking scenario, even if partially hidden, Cervinia hosted the World Cup Fim Of Enduro e–bike, The single trial world championship organized by International Motorcycle Federation. The same that governs the world championships of motocross, trial, speed and, of course, enduro. Yes, because (at least in some disciplines) for the FIM the e-bikes are not simple bicycles with pedal assisted, but mixed propulsion vehicles that, in the most extreme version, they share more than one technical and regulatory element with motorcycles. Starting from the spirit of the competition.
How the pedal enduro works
–
Those who imagine an event halfway between cycle tourism and pedaling assisted are off -road. The E-Bike enduro is a real sporting discipline, with Precise rules and format borrowed largely from the world of motorcycle and rally eduction. The races are divided into a mixed route: traits of transfer, to be tackled in compliance with a pre -established time table, and specially timed tests. Exactly as it happens in the rally, Pilots must respect precise times: nor in advance, nor lateto avoid penalty. The latter earn, or are lost, all in the specials, where the goal remains to go as strong as possible. The climbs become pedaling, with the help of the electric motor, but always in “assisted” mode: if you do not pedal, the engine does not push. If normally, and by law, assistance is limited to 25 km/has per European legislation, in the spectacular category Open The speed limits falland the engines can express all their potential, always remaining subordinated to the ride.
Race endurists

This technical and regulatory proximity has also intrigued and convinced some specialists of the classic motor enduro. On the occasion of the Cervinia World Cup, the summer break of the calendar allowed Thomas Oldrati And Manolo Morettini to participate in the event, testing with tassellate tires and silent engines. Two names that do not need presentations for off-road enthusiasts: Oldrati is 13 times Italian championtwice team world champion at six days, and currently runs with the Honda. Same jacket for Morettini, among the most interesting young people of Italian enduro, with a national asset title already. The two, at the first experience in the e-bike world championship, they have shown from the first specials to be more than simple guests. Morettini won not only the E2 category, but it was also the fastest ever of the entire event, with an impressive rhythm that left its mark. Behind him, in E2, he closed Oldrati, giving life to an all -Italian duel to the sound of detached, relaunched and absolute control of the vehicle. In some sections of the last special, speeds have been recorded up to 65 km/hdemonstrating how far these e-bikes are far from any “easy pedaling” prejudice.
triple
–
The perfect day also bears the Italian signature on a technical level. With three wins in the three main categories, Polini Motori hit an authentic world triple. With Morettini, winner of E2 and Absolute, the Spaniard Quim Fargas, first in the E1, and with Matteo Paganoni, a young talent in strong ascent, who conquered the E1J and the third place overall in the E1. A result that rewards not only the performance in the race, but also technical development. The Polini E-P3+systems, in fact, arrived in Cervinia with New software solutions, designed to improve autonomy in the longest phases and the traction control On slimy and irregular funds, frequent conditions on the Alpine paths. The performance offered during the race, both uphill as in the fast or downhill sections, confirmed the goodness of the entire package: engine, electronics, assistance management. All in a real context, at high altitudeon a natural background, with constant stress on engine, electronics and batteries.
a young discipline
–
Cervinia was not just a sporting event. It was a test bench for a young but in full expansioncapable of combining the spirit of the Enduro with the innovation of electrical mobility. The choice of the FIM to invest in the format, organizing a single -test world championship, certifies its value and potential. The participation of major brands, of over 50 athletes of absolute level, and the direct involvement of important companies show that the e-bike enduro is ready to get out of the niche and speak an increasingly sporty, competitive, and credible language. Waiting for the next season, the image of a Cervinia surrounded by clouds remains, but vibrant of emotion. And the sound, or rather, almost silence, of a new challenge on two wheels. Which, now, speaks more and more Italian.
