The women of Düsseldorfer HC have defended their title at the German indoor hockey championships in Frankfurt/Main. The Rhinelanders won the final against the Alster club 4-1 (1-1).

The final score was marked by Elisa Gräve (58th minute) with a shot into the empty goal, before the favorite had pulled away 3-1 thanks to two penalty corner hits by birthday boy Selin Oruz (35th) and Annika Sprink (37th).

Alster’s Hannah Gablać (21′) equalized the lead of Sara Strauss (18’/penalty corner) at 1-1 in the first half. It is the fourth indoor title for Düsseldorf.

Alster, on the other hand, started without seven national players. These are already with the DHB selection in Sydney. The five Düsseldorf selection players will not fly to Australia until February 6th.
