Eintracht Frankfurt will have to do without Ansgar Knauff and Luca Pellegrini in the Champions League second leg at Tottenham Hotspur. The Hessian Bundesliga club announced this after leaving for London on Tuesday.
Knauff (20) is missing due to a thigh fascial injury, Pellegrini (23) due to a shoulder injury.
“It’s not what you want, that at the final training two players say: It’s not possible,” said coach Oliver Glasner: “We already had one or the other idea that we had to discard. At the same time it’s for another player a chance to show how good he is.”
With the exception of defender Aurelio Buta, all professionals had completed the final training session in Frankfurt on Tuesday afternoon before the group game on Wednesday (9 p.m. / DAZN).
