Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, 63, was diagnosed with breast cancer, reports the news magazine BBC. According to the magazine, Ferguson’s cancer was discovered unexpectedly after he underwent a routine mammography screening.

The Duchess’s spokesperson says that doctors recommended Ferguson to have surgery after the cancer was discovered. Ferguson underwent surgery at a private clinic that was also favored by the late Queen Elizabeth.

– He was advised to undergo surgery, which has now been successfully performed, the spokesman confirms.

Currently, the Duchess is recovering at home in Windsor, where she can be with her loved ones. According to the doctors, the prognosis for breast cancer is good, which means that there will not necessarily be any further procedures.

Ferguson’s breast cancer was completely asymptomatic, so the diagnosis came to her unexpectedly. The duchess wants to use her experience to remind people to regularly examine their breasts in case of unexpected diagnoses.

The Duchess was married to Prince Andrew for 10 years. The couple divorced in 1996. TRIO
