‘Don Vito’ was extradited to Turkey in a private jet on Saturday morning. The Turkish Minister of the Interior shares images of it on X. These show the criminal blindfolded in the private jet, surrounded by masked officers.

The man is said to have laundered money from the Brabant coke dealer Bolle Jos. Bolle Jos’ brother, Harry Leijdekkers, is also in a Turkish cell. His extradition to the Netherlands could take place at any time. He is alleged to have laundered drug money by purchasing gold in Dubai, among other things.

Bolle Jos is the most wanted criminal in the Netherlands. He has to serve more than sixty years in prison in the Netherlands and Belgium for organized crime, including large-scale cocaine smuggling.

The Public Prosecution Service is offering a reward of 200,000 euros for tips leading to his arrest. The police and the judiciary want Bolle Jos behind bars as quickly as possible, also because there is a suspicion that he continues to smuggle mega shipments of cocaine from West Africa and commit crimes.

Sources in Sierra Leone state that Leijdekkers is still in hiding in that country and feels protected by those in power, including President Julius Maada Bio. He would stay in a heavily guarded compound. Government officials and ministers would facilitate Leijdekkers in this. So far, the country has responded little or not at all to requests for legal assistance from the Netherlands and Belgium.
