The strong results of the last few weeks have paid off for the German tennis talents. A young duo from the DTB has made a mega move in the official world rankings, which should significantly increase the chance of taking part in larger tournaments.

Winning the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals at the end of October pushed Max Schönhaus up to second place in the junior world rankings, but the 18-year-old has also made a leap at the ATP after recent good results.

By winning his first tournament in the M25 category in Monastir, Tunisia in mid-November and reaching the final of the M15 event last week, Schönhaus improved by a whopping 180 places. As the new number 644 in the tennis world, Schönhaus has been the third best German U19 player since the beginning of the week: only super talent Justin Engel (182) and Diego Dedura (367), who has recently been in trouble, rank ahead of Schönhaus in this category.

German tennis trio placed better than ever before

The sentence recorded by 19-year-old Vincent Marysko was even greater. Marysko celebrated his first title on the ITF tour in Sharm El-Sheikh (M15), Egypt, in mid-November. As a reward, the DTB hopeful improved by 188 places to 821st place in the world rankings.

After a few rather sobering weeks, Marko Topo also set an exclamation mark. The 22-year-old, whose steady rise had temporarily stalled in 2025, surprisingly reached the final at the Challenger in Bergamo last week. Although he narrowly lost it against Francesco Maestrelli from Italy in three sets (3:6, 6:3 and 1:6), he beat two top 200 players on the way to the final and improved by 42 places to number 240.

The new world ranking positions mean a new best in their careers for Schönhaus, Marysko and Topo.
