Kira Weidle-Winkelmann is actually currently preparing for the upcoming Olympic season. But now she was involved in a breakdown – the consequences are visible.

Kira Weidle-Winkelmann suffered a painful injury while training for the upcoming Olympic season. The German speed specialist fell violently – and crashed her face into a goal post with full force.

The 29-year-old herself shows how difficult the fall was on Instagram. The moment of impact can be seen in a short video, and she also published a photo with a clearly drawn face.

Weidle-Winkelmann has already been on the downhill podium six times in her career and won World Championship silver in 2021. Despite the injury, the humor in the team was not lost: DSV colleague Lena Dürr spoke up with a rhymed greeting of recovery. “Leaves: Colorful. Nose: Sore. Winter: In sight. Autumn poem,” wrote Dürr with a wink.

Weidle-Winkelmann still has time to recover. The first departure of the season is scheduled for December 12th in St. Moritz.
