A woman was arrested on Friday evening after she collided with another motorist while intoxicated. The accident happened on the Gemullehoekenweg in Oisterwijk. The woman drove from the Oirschotsebaan and collided with a van in a gentle bend.
She hit the bus in the side at high speed, after which the car ended up in the ditch. Police and ambulance responded to the accident to provide assistance. The woman and the driver of the car were not injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman was visibly under the influence. She was immediately tested on the spot and it turned out that she had had too much to drink. The woman was therefore arrested and had to be taken to the police station for a more extensive test to determine the final blood alcohol level.
The cars are seriously damaged, the police are continuing to investigate the accident. Several accidents have occurred in this bend in recent years.
