Drunk driver ends up with car and lamppost in Bergen’s front yard

A motorist flew out of the bend in Bergen last night and ended up in a front yard on Koninginneweg. The man dragged a lamppost along the way. The driver was found to have had too much to drink. He was arrested and his driver’s license was confiscated.

A police spokesman said there were two other people in the car. “They have been checked and taken to the hospital for a check-up.”

The driver, a 20-year-old man from Bergen, was taken to the police station.

A breathalyzer revealed that he had had too much to drink. In total he had about 6 to 7 glasses, where as a novice driver he was actually only allowed 1 glass. “His driver’s license has been confiscated and he remains suspected of driving under the influence,” the spokesperson said.
