Sr.Ms. Groningen, currently sailing for the Caribbean Coast Guard, intercepted a fast boat in the Caribbean Sea. It concerns a so-called go-fast that transported a large load of narcotics, presumably cocaine.

There were five people on board the fast boat. The moment they realized they had been caught, they threw a number of bales overboard. That part of the cargo has been lost. More than 1,620 kilograms of narcotics have been seized. The Coast Guard fired shots during the interception. One person on board the go-fast was killed.
