Drug lord on whom TV series ‘Undercover’ was based is in court for possession of 540 kilos of cocaine: “Flimsy evidence”

Janus van Wesenbeeck (63), the Dutch drug baron on whom the VRT-Netflix co-production ‘Undercover’ is based, is suspected of trafficking in 540 kilos of cocaine. This became apparent in the court in Den Bosch on Friday. The Eindhoven resident became known for the series in which actor Frank Lammers played the character Ferry Bouman based on him.
