The race broke open in the fifth of fourteen laps, under the impulse of the Bondt. A leading group of thirteen drove a minute and a half, including Edward Planckaert, Warre Vangheluwe and four riders from Van Ryssel-Roubaix. As the kilometers progressed, the leading group thinned out. De Bondt again forced into a premium sprint and separated with four others: Planckaert, Maxime Jarnet, Killian Théot and Kiaan Watts. Moments later, Théot and then Watts also disappeared.
In the final round, the Bondt placed his decisive demarrage. Nobody could follow. He successfully completed his solo and won the Grand Prix Raf Jonckheere for the first time.
