Drenthe starts campaign so that residents identify drug crime more quickly

Drenthe is starting a campaign to make residents (more) aware of signals associated with drug crime.

Containers are being installed for this purpose in all twelve municipalities. Containers where everyone can be informed about drug crime, so that it can be recognized in time. In the container, experts tell you how to recognize drug crime.

“Drentse municipalities are eager to get started”, says Commissioner of the King, Jetta Klijnsma. The campaign is expected to start before the summer holidays.

The campaign has even started in the municipality of Westerveld. There, the police will talk to owners of sheds and sheds to create awareness. But the municipality of Westerveld has indicated that it also wants to use the containers.

The municipalities of Hoogeveen and De Wolden choose to use the containers during events, says Klijnsma. A container will arrive in the municipality of Meppel during the week of safety, from 30 May to 3 June. And the Noordenveld municipality opts for the same set-up as Westerveld, according to Klijnsma. “All municipalities are doing it.”

The province is allocating 100,000 euros for the campaign.
