The Roo Brothers are completely ready for the Regional Song Contest. On today’s press day, the Drenthe delegation was introduced to their competitors, whom they will meet again on November 1 in Arnhem.
“There is something in between,” Alfred and Jaap de Roo say about the entries from other provinces. “It goes in all directions in terms of style, but in terms of level it is super high.”
The song that the gentlemen will sing on November 1 is called Olde Jettainspired by an old car. “It is an old childhood memory from 25 years ago. We went on holiday to Terschelling in an old Volkswagen Jetta.”
The Roo Brothers are popular with other attendees, such as the Groningers Iwan and Jeroen. “They are guys with a guitar and a very unique sound. That stands out.” Presenter Jochem van Gelder is also impressed. “The song is in my top 5.”
