It all went wrong on the provincial road around 4.50 pm. “Many emergency services are on site to help the injured. Give the emergency workers space,” said the police. An air ambulance and several ambulances also arrived at the scene.
Despite resuscitation by the emergency services, the 4-year-old child died on the spot. The three other injured were taken to different hospitals, police said. In the course of the evening, it was reported that a child less than a year old had died in hospital.
The single-vehicle accident happened on Oude Bredasebaan. It is not yet clear how the accident could have happened. “We deeply sympathize with the family,” the Breda police said. “This is terrible for the family.”
