Dr. Martens Plc will have to make do without its creative director Darren McKoy.
McKoy is leaving the British shoe retailer after ten years, he announced on Monday on the career network Linkedin. He joined the company in 2015 as Global Category Product Director and took on the role of Creative Director in December 2021.
“After careful consideration, I made the decision early last year to retire and pursue new opportunities and creative challenges,” said McKoy. It wasn’t an easy decision, but the “right time” had come to close the chapter and write the next one.
Before Dr. Martens, he worked for the Japanese sportswear retailer Asics in Amsterdam as Category Manager Asics Tiger and Onitsuka Tiger. Further stops included the clothing manufacturers VF Corporation, Adidas and Mams & Papas.
