‘Criminal object transferred’
The investigation came to roll after agents of a national service had seen a motorist behaved suspiciously at the station in Ermelo. The suspicion was that a punishable object had been transferred. Agents wanted to check the motorist. The man tried to escape, but he could still be stopped.
Research showed that he had no fewer than a hundred sharp patterns in his pocket. Another man who had been in the car for a moment was also arrested. After investigation, both suspects were released again. Investigators of the national expertise and operations unit did not leave it here and continue their research under the authority of the national public prosecutor. The police had noticed how easily suspects spoke about all the weaponry and how it could be converted. These conversations were not only among the suspicious men, but also with other people within families or groups of friends.
Six suspects emerged based on these conversations and other information. It was then decided to proceed to searches and arrests. All the weaponry found on Wednesday was sharp. A 3D printer with printed firearms were also discovered. Due to the explosive nature of the finds, the Explosives Clearance Service Defense (EOD) was used at four addresses.
It has not been announced which weapons have been seized where.
