It is the fourth consecutive day that Schiphol has been affected by the weather. The dense fog means that planes have to keep more distance from each other, which reduces the airport’s capacity.

A total of 1,050 flights were planned for today, of which around 50 (25 return flights) have been cancelled. A spokesperson says that the company has removed 15 return flights from the timetable for today. This concerns flights within Europe.

If possible, KLM will only cancel flights to destinations that are visited more than once a day, a spokesperson said yesterday. This way, affected travelers can easily be rebooked to a flight later in the day.

According to the spokesperson, Schiphol is working with airlines to limit the consequences for travelers as much as possible.
