Downer Donny van de Beek: Eintracht Frankfurt does not register Dutchman for Conference League | Foreign football

Disappointment for Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman, who switched from Manchester United to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan this winter, is not registered for the Conference League.

Eintracht Frankfurt will play the away match against Union Sint-Gillis in the interim round of the Conference League on February 15, followed by the return on February 22. The Germans apparently do not need Van de Beek’s services. Winter signings Sasa Kalajdzic and Hugo Ekitiké were chosen over Van de Beek, as well as former PSV player Philipp Max. They are the three new players registered by the current number six of the Bundesliga.

Clubs are only allowed to make three changes halfway through the season compared to the selection that was registered for European competitions in the first half of the season. The 26-year-old Dutchman started his first three games at Eintracht Frankfurt, but he was substituted at half-time against FSV Mainz 05, after which he remained on the bench for ninety minutes against 1. FC Köln last weekend.

Eintracht Frankfurt took over Van de Beek on loan this winter and has a purchase option of ten million euros on the 26-year-old Dutchman, who previously played for Ajax, Everton and Manchester United. With his move to Germany Van de Beek hopes to be eligible for the Dutch team againwhich will play the European Championships in Germany next summer.
