Completely deserved victory, superior in all respects – but you have to be able to expect that. In view of this, I found it quite wild how Tom Bartels (he was, wasn’t he?) tried to comment on Luxembourg as the top opponent in the phase after the 4-0 win in order to talk strongly about Germany and individual players; That was really weird. Sorry but this is a must win, even at altitude. After the early red it should actually be even clearer – to compare that with any games against France and other countries immediately creates an expectation that has nothing to do with reality. And next year in North America many people will be surprised again that Spain, Argentina and Mexico aren’t all blown out of the stadium.
PS: And of course there is a completely different audience in the stadium at DFB games, which I think is a good thing – but these “Can I do your Trikoooo” signs should finally be banned or at least no longer shown on TV. It’s completely silly how many people feel like they’re in the stadium just to get free stuff.
