Tina Nijkamp is currently the most prominent media critic in the country, but hardly dares to talk about Gordon anymore. “Because before you know it I’ll be hit again,” she says.
It is no secret that Gordon generally has difficulty dealing with criticism and has little ability to take it. His critics are regularly given a hard time. The highlight was when his soap opera was broadcast. Yet Tina Nijkamp, when she started in television, also suffered from the entertainer in the distant past.
Fishwife
Tina was once completely shocked by Gordon when she was doing an internship at The 5 Hour Show. She said she was completely abused by him. “He said, ‘I’ll make sure you never work in TV again!’”
Well, Gordon didn’t succeed. Tina eventually rose to become station manager of SBS 6 and became the Broadcaster of the Year. Today, Tina is the most important TV critic in our country and the relationship with Gordon is still erratic. He called her ‘a fishwife’ in his soap opera. “Then I think: woman, what are you talking about?”
‘Don’t you dare anymore’
Nowadays, Tina hardly mentions the subject of Gordon anymore, because he always reacts so strongly. Yet she answers today in her podcast Tina’s TV Update the following question from a listener: “Has Gordon stopped his TV reviews again?”
Gordon announced a while ago that he would become a TV critic. Is he done with that? Tina then: “Well, that’s what it seems like. I don’t dare say it, because…”, then laughing: “I actually don’t dare say anything more about Gordon, because before you know it I’ll be hit with it again, but in any case he hasn’t posted a review for two weeks.”
‘I’ll leave it at that’
Gordon does still post aviation reviews. Were those TV reviews short-lived? “I don’t think he has stopped, but he is of course also busy with his radio show. That’s quite tough in my opinion, to get up so early every time,” says Tina.
She concludes: “Maybe he will pick it up again soon, but there were indeed no TV reviews in the past two weeks, but has he stopped? I honestly don’t think so, but he was probably too busy in the past two weeks, but I have no idea. I don’t dare say anything else about Gordon, so I’ll just leave it at that.”
