- In online banking, you should be careful so that important information is not forgotten about the payment.
- Forgotten reference numbers will become a decline in millions of euros annually for companies.
- In the most extreme cases, a non -reference fee can lead to bail.
In its announcement, the invoicing and debt collection company Uuva warns the consequences of forgetting the invoice reference number. According to it, this is an unfortunately common problem that causes a millions of euros in an annual basis for companies.
– The situation is alarming, the CEO of the new Sami Alapuro Underlines in the bulletin and says oblivion is completely useless to waste resources.
According to Uuva, more than 550 million invoices are sent to Finns each year. Non -referenced charges cause more than 10 % of the total cost of the invoice processing, although their share of all fees is of only one %.
The fee may not be found with incomplete information
If the invoice information contains the reference number, it is advisable to use it.
Without the reference, the fee is not properly directed by the invoicer’s system, even if the payer has entered the amount and other information correctly. For this reason, the invoice paid may remain unpaid on the system.
When the reference number is incorrectly entered or is not at all, it will cost. Alapuro says banks will charge more non -reference to references than references, and in addition, allocating a non -reference payment requires manual work.
Also OP Media has been reminded the importance of the reference number on its website.
– If you do not use a reference when paying, it may happen that the invoicer will not find your payment and may be carried, OP experts said in 2019.
The payer may receive an additional invoice
If the payment has been made without the reference number indicated for it, the payer may even be liable. However, this requires intent, which can be difficult to prove.
“It is not just about payment reminders or recovery costs, but the payer is obliged to reimburse the extra handling costs of the payment recipient,” says Alapuro.
If the payment paid with incorrect or incomplete information becomes a reminder and does not take care, the consequences may be gloomy. Ultimately, the consumer may even be bailed out, Alapuro warns.
If you get a payment reminder that you think you have already paid, you should find out in time by contacting the invoicer. It is not advisable to ignore payment reminders and letters from the debt collection agency simply because you have paid the original invoice.
– Case of recovery due to non -reference fees take the resources of the courts, which could be used much more appropriately, Alapuro says.
