DAfter the Sanremo break, it returns tonight on Rai 1 (at 9.30 pm) Don Matteo 15 with the eighth episode. The priest from Spoleto has to deal with a case involving two escapees from prison. They are armed and dangerous. Caterina, on the other hand, wants to leave the weapon: he goes into crisis when, faced with one of the two criminals, he is unable to pull the trigger and stop him.
Marshal Cecchini will have to look after the daughter of one of the criminals. Together with Captain Diego, Margherita will participate in a competition for songs dedicated to children, organized in Spoleto by the famous singer Carolina Benvenga. Will the competition also be a way to frame the little girl’s father?

Two criminals have escaped from prison. These are Ugo Giannuzzi and Armando Lodi. They are armed. The police are on their trail. And also Don Massimo (Raoul Bova). A few hours later Annarita is found dead in her tobacco shop. The woman was hit with the shutter latch. It might have been one two two men. But what is the motive? Diego (Eugenio Mastrandrea) manages to track down the two’s refuge, but because of Caterina Provvedi (Irene Giancontieri) the man runs away.
The Marshal enters into crisis. He doesn’t feel up to the role. He asks the Captain for leave from the force. Maybe she’s not suited to being a Carabiniere. But she is not the only one who remained immobile with the gun in her hand and without having the courage to shoot a man. It had also happened years earlier to Don Massimo and Diego himself, who tries to console his colleague.

The investigations into Annarita’s death continue. Don Massimo questions the daughter of Armando, who ended up in prison for killing his wife five years earlier. His daughter never forgave him. But perhaps the truth never came out. Cecchini (Nino Frassica) takes to heart the story of little Margherta, Ugo’s daughter, left alone when her grandfather, due to an illness, ends up in hospital. The Marshal, instead of entrusting her to social services, keeps her with him.
Don Matteo 15: tonight’s guest star is Carolina Benvenga
The presenter of children’s TV programs Carolina Benvenga is the guest star of tonight’s episode. Little Margherita is a fan of his. The cash is in Spoleto for a song competition dedicated to young talents. The winning song will end up on his next album. The daughter of the escaped prisoner Ugo absolutely wants to participate.
Marshal Cecchini can’t say no to her. Together with Diego and Caterina they will try to write a funny song. The title is The marshal named Nino. The same one accompanies Margherita on the accordion Diego. The little girl’s performance at the theater could be used as bait to capture her escaped father.

Does Maria return to the rectory? Diego and Caterina’s crisis
In the previous episode Jonah had found Maria in Spello. During the new episode however, the girl decides to no longer look at her past forgotten, but to a future that must be built entirely. Don Massimo convinces her.
Giulia left for Milan without saying goodbye to her beloved Diego. Their relationship is now at a standstill. The Captain becomes very close to Caterina during this episode, especially when she goes into a deep crisis for not being able to stop one of the escaped criminals. There Marshal questions his role and abilities. In this moment of confusion the heart pushes towards risky actions.
